Pop Goes The Pottery: Bubble Glazing - May 10th, 2026

$60.00

When: Sunday, May 10th, 1 PM - 3 PM
Where: Once and Future Things, 3956 S. Hudson Ave., Tulsa, OK
Who’s Invited: Adults and kids 8+

Ready to try a glaze technique that’s equal parts playful and magical?

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the art of bubble glazing — a surface design method that uses glaze-filled bubbles to create layered, organic patterns on pottery. The results can be soft and subtle or bold and dramatic, and no two pieces ever turn out the same.

This workshop is open to all experience levels. No prior ceramics experience is necessary.

Each participant will choose one bisque-fired piece provided by the studio:

  • A mug

  • A vase

  • Or a bowl

You’ll learn:
• How to mix and prepare a bubble glaze solution
• Application techniques for different visual effects
• Layering strategies to build depth and contrast
• Tips for achieving successful firing results

We’ll handle the firing after the workshop, and you’ll be notified within two weeks to return later and pick up your finished piece.

Come ready to experiment, get a little messy, and leave with a one-of-a-kind glazed piece made entirely by you.

The cost of this class covers one participant. This activity is not advised for children under the age of 8. A separate registration is required for each participant. Any children under 10 must be accompanied by a supervising adult (supervising adults are not required to register, must register separately if they wish to participate).

Once and Future Things and its staff reserve the right to cancel this class or a student’s enrollment at any time due to circumstances including, but not limited to, over- or under-enrollment or poor weather. Once and Future Things and its staff are not responsible for injuries or broken artwork.
